About Us
Sitting Bear Arts is a new enterprise started by David Weight this year (2014), with assistance and loving support from daughter, Leah. The calendar is our way of supporting wilderness conservation efforts, especially given the urgent
challenges of climate change to the environment. 30% of the profits from our calendars directly supports the Old-Growth Forest Network.
Our first calendar, the Perpetual Wilderness Calendar, features artists from the 18th through 20th centuries. Their art depicts the places, people and creatures of their time. As we grow we will continue to publish more. Each calendar will feature unique wilderness art and raise money to protect our earth's wild places.
Keep checking back with us! Our next goal is to publish a Perpetual Michigan Wilderness Calendar, featuring Michigan artists depicting Michigan wilderness.
